Well, I spoke with some young women to see what they were going through; you know that age when you are no longer a child, but family do not see you as a real adult. You might be 18-21, maybe up to 24 years of age; the fact is, things might not be working out the way you’d hope. Sometimes I have to admit, some young women act like they are still children, but there are some that act well beyond their years. Some young adult women list a couple of things: emotional abuse, low self-esteem, bullying, negative social media posts about them, peer pressure, and being teased because they are virgins.
First of all young women, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are made in the image and likeness of God, no matter what anyone else says.
Sometimes young adult women might carry themselves in a way that might send the wrong message to their parents and peers. We’re not suppose to judge a “book” by its cover, but the truth is people do. For example, If I go into a job interview with shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirt but I had an amazing resume with me; what do you think will happen? Lets say its a job as head of marketing for Apple Corporation and I just wanted to see if they would hire me; I personally think they might not. Sometimes people associate the way we carry ourselves with the way we do other things. It might not be true or even fair, but it’s a fact.
Parents want you to act like an adult, but because you might not have your own things at that this stage in life, they talk to you as a child; which, makes you want to retaliate and get mad. Well, that makes them see you as a child and that’s exactly what you don’t want.
I would like some young adults to get involved in this blog, if you want change don’t sit and wait do something about it. There are people willing to listen.
