I want to focus today on Romans 8:1 women and girls. This verse states ” There is therefore now NO condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk no after the flesh, but after the spirit”. This verse women and girls says something very important for us. For all of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, by believing and confessing Jesus Christ is the one and only son of God and he rose from the dead and sits on the right hand of God.
If we live by the spirit which is the word of God and not after the lusts of the flesh, there is no condemnation. Now not one of us females are perfect, but when we give our hearts to God, he can change us. The things we use to do, we no longer do. We have no pleasure in many things we use to do before we got saved.
Sometimes people in our lives remind us constantly of our past. I will tell you something I had to deal with. I use to be with a man for about 12 years. I was not married to him and I had a child with him. Well I made a decision to give my life to God through Jesus Christ. My ex thought that was great, so he encouraged me. Well after I started reading the bible and praying everyday, I realized I was sinning by having a sexual relationship with this man. I told him about what we were doing was wrong and it had to change. To make a long story short. My ex, who was backing me up, was getting mad. When I started telling him what I’ve learned, it meant things had to change between us. I was not going to live the way I lived before. I was not going to have premarital sex. So when my ex realized I was serious by not only saying I was changing but backing up my words with action; he felt like he had to twist the words of the bible to confuse me. It did not work. He did not want to change. He did not want to get married. He said,” you can’t have sex with someone for 12 years and then stop. This is what we do. We had a great relationship.” It took 2 years of this talk for him to start getting the message. I realized if God says he can forgive me when I repent (turn away and don’t go back) of my sins , he will forgive me and his blood will wash my sins away. He will not remember them. If God can forgive and forget, who are those people to tell us what we did in the past over and over, then try to get you to back slide ( go back to our previous sins). Women and girls if you have already made the decision to change your life because you realized their is no more compromising your joy, peace and worth; don’t let anyone from your past discourage you. And if you haven’t made that decision yet, now is the time. There is therefore NOW NO condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk no after the flesh, but after the spirit. You are worth it!
