Getting back to Exodus 3:13-14, God told Moses, tell them” I am that I am” sent you. That simple phrase is amazing and wonderful. Jehovah Nissi means the Lord our Banner. Ok, what exactly does that mean for us, women and girls. The bible states, we battle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, ruling spirits of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places (devil and his demons). Jesus Christ is the King of heavens armies. Stop trying to fight things on our own. We have someone that is willing and able to fight for us, especially in our time of weakness. Sometimes we have people in our lives that try to steal our joy every chance they get. Sometimes we can’t distance ourselves from them. Sometimes it might be a parent. Sometimes it might be a guardian. Sometimes it might be a husband. Sometimes it might be ourselves. When we come up against people or thoughts that are demonic, we can not fight with physical hands. I am not saying angry, resentful, people are possessed. I am saying that sometimes we allow the devil to influence our thoughts. Women and girls, we have to stay focused at all times.
Before I was truly saved, I was in a relationship that was debilitating, to say the least. If anyone has seen or heard of a leech, that’s what my relationship for 12 years. This person always wanted to keep me down. This person stole my joy. He stole my peace. He stole my hope. I always felt like I was carrying a load on my back. He twisted my words and made me feel worthless. When I went to him to learn more about the bible, he twisted the meaning so I would always stay in bondage to him. I walked away from my relationship with my heavenly father. I was a mess on the inside and eventually it started to show on the outside. The worst part was I welcomed the opportunity for him to tear me down for 12 years. I didn’t know my value at the time. The Lord says, who he has set free is free indeed. Why would anyone not want to be free. I’ll tell you why. When we are spiritually, psychologically, emotionally lost for a long period of time; we think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Instead of coming to God our father through Jesus Christ to fight for us and deliver us; we think we can do all things through us. When we, women, can not overcome our obstacles, we make excuse. No more excuses! We have Jehovah Nissi and his legion of angels under his command. It’s time to stop stressing ourselves out and give it to God.
