A New Thing.

From one of my study sessions; I have realized that we have a tendency to put God in a box. We limit the move of God in our lives. God wants to blow our minds in this season. God told me that he is doing a new thing, but we try to limit his hand. Our thoughts are not his thoughts. Our expectations tend to be small compared to where God wants us to be. This is the season of Jubilee and in order for our minds to be blown; as God has promised,  we have to come to God with expectation and praise.
While reading 1 Kings 19:11,12 God showed me something about this verse through his precious Holy Spirit. “11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”

Take your time and read verses 11 and 12 very slowly, allow the Holy Spirit to work in you. As we read, we notice something. The Lord tells Elijah to put himself in a positon to receive, by coming out of the cave (hiding). The Bible states the Lord passed by . There was a great and strong wind. Then there was an earthquake. And then there was a fire. Notice that the Lord was not in any of those three things.

Well the Spirit of the living God says Elijah knew God moved in those ways before and that was what he was expecting. We know from the Bible that Elijah was born years after Moses. Elijah was a Jew and therefore new about Moses and the miracles God did for the  Israelites. The Bible states the Lord passed by. The word passed with ‘ed” is past tense, meaning it happened before at a previous time. Lets look back at how God manifested himself before in the Bible, as they relate to verses 11 and 12; with wind, earthquake and fire.

God manifested in the wind.  Genesis 8:1- 3 “1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.”

Exodus 14:21, 22. 21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

God manifested in an earthquake. Exodus 19: 14-19. “ 14 And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.

15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.

16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.”

God manifested in fire. Exodus 3:2-4. 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. “

Exodus 13: 21-22.21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

Exodus 24:17.17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.”

What was new for Elijah, at that time was the still small voice. Do not miss out on this move of God. Do not put God in a box. Allow God to move in your life as he sees fit.

Pray this. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth; I surrender to you. Heavenly Father, may your kingdom last forever. May your name be kept Holy. Have your will be done in my life as it is in heaven. Give me spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear you. I know you knew me before I was formed in my mothers womb. You have planned for me to do your will. You have called me and I am answering, Yes! I will no longer put you in a box. I want the fullness of you Lord through your precious Holy Spirit. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Amen, Amen and Amen!

Now you have prayed, the Spirit of the Lord says, “ Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43: 18,19)”

Thank you for your donations.
