Many months ago as I was spending personal time with God; I asked him a question. I asked,”What’s on your heart Father? What do you want to tell me?” Needless to say, God did not answer me right away. Later that night, he showed me.
I was in a dream. Imagine a street that looks like the letter “T”. I was walking up the street. Just like the letter T; it intersected into another straight road. As I was walking up to the upcoming street; I saw something. It was an animal. The head and body looked like a crocodile mixed with an alligator. It was walking on all fours like the actually reptile. It had a huge smile on its face. But the tail was not like the crocodile or alligator. The tail was like octopus legs, but thicker. The tail was moving as if separate from the body. There were so many tentacles and all were moving like they had a mind of their own. They were slimy, mucous and wiggly. The best way I can explain the tail is like an octopus out of water.
I looked at the town down the street; which is where the creature was headed, on my left. The people in the town looked so happy. Actually they were over happy. The towns people were, crazy happy. I was confused at first by everything and I did not understand. I looked up the street to my right side. I noticed people were leaving the right side and headed to the town, on my left side. The creature was walking so slow. I was still standing facing this road in front of me looking to the left and to the right. As the creature finally was passing me; he said,”HO HO HO!”. Right then and there I started to understand what God was telling me. I walked around the creature, to see it from all angles. I turned away from the town , to go up the road, which was to my right. Now, I was facing the right and I started walking away from the town and the creature. I turned to take one last look at the creature’s “tail”. The creature was hideous and repulsive looking.
I turned my focus to my destination. Don’t know exactly where I was going. I do know however; Only 2 or 3 other people was going in my direction. Many people were leaving my destination to join the HO HO HOing creature and the town. I was very confused as to why people were going to join the creature. All the people was leaving the right side with joy and elation. I woke up from the dream.
When I woke up from the dream; I spent days talking to God about it. Through revelation from God; I found out that there is a spirit behind Christmas. An ugly spirit behind Christmas, as a matter of fact. The people that were leaving the right side of the road to go to the left side; are Christians. People who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savoir, were falling away and adapting the habits of the land. I was so sad. I grew up celebrating Christmas and I was accustom to the worldly life. But now that I have accepted the Lord into my life; I can no longer partake of heathen celebrations.
God revealed to me, in his word, that things like this has happened before. We as children of the Most High God have turned our backs on him and adopted (took it into our lives) and adapted (changed ourselves to fit in), the things of the land. Remember, God says he is a jealous God. God told us to not adopt the habits and traditions of the land.
Exodus 20 King James Version (KJV)
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exodus 34 King James Version (KJV)
11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
As I’m writing this; the Lord put this word in my spirit.
Joshua 24 King James Version (KJV)
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Don’t get me wrong, it took a while for me to deliver this word because the Lord had to work it out of me first. I was accustomed to Christmas. I had to talk to God about the kids and how they will deal with it. But in the end, I choose my first love. And I call him Abba, Father. How I love him. My family also talked together and I spoke with our Apostle about it.
Now, the decision is yours. Whom will YOU serve? Will you give up traditions for the Lord Jesus and the Gospel?
Remember, we love you. But God loves you more.
