According to the Strong’s Concordance in Greek
3474 mōrós (the root of the English terms, “moron, moronic”) – properly, dull (insipid), flat (“without an edge”); (figuratively) “mentally inert”; dull in understanding; nonsensical (“moronic”), lacking a grip on reality (acting as though “brainless”).
[This root (mōr-) “properly refers to physical nerves causing one to become dull, sluggish (so Hipp., Aristotle); used of the mind, dull, stupid, foolish” (Abbott-Smith); “flat/insipid” (WS, 1062). 3474 (mōrós) is used ironically of apparent stupidity in 1 Cor 1;25,27, 3:18.]
According to the Strong’s Concordance in Hebrew “nabal” which means fool.
When I read the bible and I see how many times people are called fools; I can believe it because the bible also says there is nothing new under the sun. We as humans even though we have new technologies and think of new ways to do things; we end up doing the same foolishness over and over. I was thinking of all the times I have been a fool and it was many times. When we don’t talk to God, so we set ourselves up to be fools.
Like the time, I thought I can change a person myself to make him the man I wanted him to be. I also remember the time when I put non-living things before family. I also remember the times when I didn’t pay that much attention to other people that needed help. I also remember all the times I’ve wasted money unnecessarily. The times I’ve lost compassion… and the time when I was naïve. I could go on and on. But I want all of us to ask God to help us remember those times and then ask God to help us change it. When God speaks to us and tells us what we need to change; please don’t ignore it.
Create in us a new person, God, holy and acceptable in his site. Amen.
