One of the main challenges affecting society today is the unbalanced scale of entitlement vs accountability.
The sense of entitlement is too high, yet facing accountability is extremely low. We have to remember that when someone does something for us to be appreciative. Yes, according to Matthew 19:19, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Does that mean we are to treat people like they have no choice. Remember, God gave us free will. God is not going to take our free will to choose from us, so who are we to take it from another person. If a person does something good for us; let us appreciate it. Not only say it with our mouths but also with corresponding actions.
On the subject to accountability, we have to recognize our part, in our OWN lives. This is not always the case, meaning, if a baby dies because its mother killed it. It is not the babies fault. It was the mothers responsibility to take care of the baby, or a young child whose caretaker molested and/or raped them.
For several years, You’re Worth It Foundation Inc has been finding out why many people don’t have homes for their families. After over 3 years of research, prayer and meetings; we realized most failures come from the person themselves. Of course many would not admit it, but it does. Let’s give one true life example. There is a young man that recently got out of jail for a simple misdemeanor. The young man is frustrated because “no one will give him another chance”. The young man meets someone who is willing to help. The man is lead to transitions, who helps to expunge his record and seal it. He then gets help in trade training, that pays him to learn on the job. When the day of training starts, the man is no where to be found. Someone follows up with the young man to see where he is. When finally reached, the man says, “I’m in bed, I forgot, I fell asleep.” Do you know what will happen if this man is interviewed? What he will probably say is no one gave him a chance. He will probably say that he is marked as being bad because he made a couple of bad decisions that put him in jail.
As a non profit business, we aim to help families, but as a ministry; we get to the root of issues and help free individuals.
Let’s reflect on our lives and the decisions we’ve made. Not to demoralize ourselves, but to see our bad habits. The first step to freedom is admitting their is a problem. Take time to reflect and if you still can’t see, then ask the Lord to reveal them to you and write them down so you don’t forget. Once that is complete ask God to lead you in the right direction to fix the bad habits.
